Phil R. & Jay Roland

Jay Rolandi's career as a singer begins way back in the late 70's, as the lead vocalist of "Firefly", a trio of italian funk-dance music makers. The band had his first international achievement with the single "Love And Friendship" published first in Italy and then in USA in 1980-81, reaching the 3rd place of the "Hot 100" Billboard USA charts and staying there for over three months. Jay's main works in the 80's include four albums with Firefly and a solo album in 1986 for CBS, featuring the single "Rise", as well as other minor releases as 12" singles. In the 90's he was one of the lead vocalists of Co.Ro. and co-wrote with them a six-hands album of commercial dance music. Based in Vicenza (Italy), he is actually cooperating with Phil R., an electronic music producer & remixer that appeared in the music scene in 2001 with the single "Dow Jones - Keep On Loving", released all over Europe. In the same year, he co-produced a dance single "Da Life - Lost In Time", released in Spain and included in the compilation "Solo los numeros 1" which won the gold prize.
In the following years, he produced and remixed different deep-house and lounge tracks and in 2005 he managed the italian branch of "Kolonki Recordings", the russian deephouse label originally founded by Petr Shalmin and now managed by Harley&Muscle. For this label, he also co-produced and remixed many tracks which have been released worldwide by Soulstar Records compilations, such as "Wonderful" and "Emeraude" by Cortes feat. Terry Dexter. Based in Padova (Italy), he's the owner of a recording studio, where all the new digital recording and editing techniques meet the classic warm sound of a real analog console (a big 48 channel Soundcraft TS24).
